- : I had the V1.0 ROM, I also called them and within 3-4 days, I had the
- : new one. Unfortunately, it lasted only 2-3 days and then wouldn't
- : work at all. I called again, and they said they would send another
- : out. I waited... and waited... and waited... I even gave them the
- : benefit of the doubt... and waited some more as it was December, and
- : just before Christmas.
-
- : Finally, on Tuesday of this week (Jan 2). I found their corporate
- : number ( I had been trying the support number... busy...
- : busy...busy...) and the name of the Director of Quality and Customer
- : Service through a Wall Street Journal on-line reference. I gave him a
- : call directly. He was very nice. And so was I, even while expressing
- : my frustrations. He said they would get one out to me UPS in 3-5
- : days. I requested if there was any way to speed that up, it would be
- : appreciated.
-
- : Today is Thursday (Jan 4), and I just replaced my old modem with the
- : completely new one they sent me via UPS Next Day Air. Things are
- : working great so far. I haven't checked to see what version I have,
- : but it hasn't hung up on me yet, which was the problem I was having.
-
- : I really appreciate it when a company follows up, even if I did have
- : to call high.
-
- Question about the new ROM: does anyone else have to use a break
- signal routinely? I do, and the new ROM does not support it. It is so
- necessary that I took the new ROM out and put the old one back in.
-
- The lack of hardware handshaking support stil is not fixed, either.
-
-
- Hooray for Zoom indeed.
